Blue Meanie P. Cubensis was named by a mycologist who went by the name “Keeper”. He strategically named one of his claimed cube variety’s Blue Meanie, which was already an infamous strain in the Panaeolus cyanescens (true blue meanies) The originally named Blue Meanie is noted for its extreme potency and from the marketing stand point Keeper knew beginner mycologist would be excited to try something with the same name. Over time more variety’s appeared from his vault from “keepers creeper” to plain old “creeper”. The list went on and eventually people caught on to the hype which still lingers today. Keeper was in the spore trade during 2010-2015 when Shroomery.org was the most valuable resource for spores and education.  In this day and age the Blue meanie Cubensis variety is a household staple.
